🚗 DTEC Vehicle Auction

Looking for a project car while supporting student learning? The Dennis Technical Education Center (DTEC) is hosting a vehicle auction featuring cars previously used in our automotive programs.

These vehicles have supported hands-on, real-world training for students and are now available to the public. All vehicles have been donated to DTEC and are titled, but each will require work. Some vehicles are not currently running and may need to be trailered. All vehicles are sold as-is, with no warranties and no test drives.

Bidding will take place through a blind reserve auction, meaning bids are not visible to others and vehicles will only be sold if a minimum price is met.

🗓 Bidding Window: May 5–May 20
📧 Winning bidders notified: May 21
🚨 Payment & pickup deadline: May 22 by 4:00 PM

Vehicles are available for drive-by viewing at:
3324 S. Milwaukee Lane, Suite 110, Boise, ID

All proceeds from the auction directly support DTEC programs, student opportunities, and SkillsUSA.

Extrication Day 2026

Students in the EMT and Firefighting programs at the DTEC recently partnered with Boise and Star Fire Departments for a hands-on vehicle extrication training experience- applying the same skills first responders use to safely rescue individuals during serious accidents.

Through opportunities like this, students train alongside industry professionals, build confidence in high-pressure situations, and develop the technical and teamwork skills essential to emergency response.

Experiences like these highlight the impact of strong community partnerships and career-connected learning. Our students aren’t just learning about these careers, they’re actively preparing to step into them.

🔨 DTEC Students at the 2026 Construction Combine

DTEC students recently took their skills beyond the classroom and into the field at the annual Construction Combine- an event designed to give high school students hands-on experience in the construction industry.

During this two-day experience, students worked alongside industry professionals, building, problem-solving, and learning what it truly takes to succeed in skilled trades. The event brings together hundreds of students from across the Treasure Valley, creating opportunities to explore careers, build connections, and gain confidence through doing rather than just observing.

Experiences like this are what make learning at DTEC different. Students aren’t just preparing for the future, they’re actively building it, developing real skills that translate directly to careers in construction and beyond.

DTEC Students Head to National Stage at SkillsUSA Conference

More than 30 students, along with advisors, parents, and supporters, are getting ready to head to Atlanta, Georgia, from June 1–5, 2026, for the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC). These students aren’t just attending, they’re representing Idaho as some of the very best in their fields.

They earned their spot by competing at the state level and coming out on top in areas like Cyber Security, Fire Fighting, Automotive, Welding, Photography, Diesel Technology, and more. Idaho’s student state officers will also be there, leading and representing with pride.

This conference is a huge deal- it’s the largest gathering of skilled students in the country, bringing together over 19,000 people. Students will compete against the best in the nation, explore hands-on exhibits, attend workshops, build leadership skills, and even give back through a community service project.

The week wraps up with an exciting awards ceremony celebrating all the hard work and achievements.

We’re so proud of these students and can’t wait to see them represent Idaho on the national stage!

From Training to Tomorrow

At DTEC, students don’t just explore careers, they begin building their futures. As we wrap up the school year, we’re proud to celebrate the real steps our students are taking beyond the classroom. From firefighting seniors who have already been hired onto crews before graduation, to CNA students preparing to enter the healthcare field with confidence and hands-on experience, these moments reflect what’s possible when learning is connected to real opportunities.

Through industry partnerships, training, and student-driven growth, DTEC students are gaining the skills, confidence, and direction to take their next steps. Their stories are just the beginning, and we’re excited to see where they go next.
